Minh Ta | President
Mr. Ta came to the U.S as a refugee. He understood the struggle of the refugees who went through the sorrow of war and of loss after the war in Vietnam ended. He saw suffering and emotional distress in this group. Mr. Ta is the founder of Mekong Community Center which began operating in 1989. He currently serves as President of the Board. Mr. Ta has been working in the field of social work for over thirty years. He began helping Vietnamese refugees with mental health challenges and people with severe mental illnesses from Institution of Mental Diseases (IMD). Mr. Ta has a Master degree in social work, and he is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Stephanie Nguyen | Vice President
Mrs. Nguyen has been in the social services sector in California for over fifteen years. She has been involved with community-based nonprofit organizations throughout her career in IT and social work. Mrs. Nguyen has a Master degree in social work.
Anh Tran | Treasurer
Ms. Tran has been on Mekong advisory board for over eight years. She continues to do outreach and support the Vietnamese population, most recently covid vaccination resources for our clients. Ms. Tran has a Master Degree in social work, and she is currently on the management team for the city of San Jose.
Theodore Nguyen | Secretary
Mr. Nguyen is a retired engineer for the County of Santa Clara. He has been on the advisory board for over eight years, and he has given valuable contribution to the organization on community issues.
